New Quaker Meeting in Wimborne celebrates another ‘first’ during Quaker Week

by The Friend Newsdesk 18th October 2013

The new Quaker Meeting in Wimborne, Dorset, celebrated another ‘first’ during Quaker Week when it mounted an exhibition displaying the Quaker Homeless Action mobile library.

The library lends books to people with or without an address, mainly in London but also in Poole and Bournemouth. Wimborne Quakers were available, during the morning, in the town square (see photo), to talk to people about Quakerism.

Local Friend Richard Bush said: ‘There was a mixture of curiosity and deep interest, particularly from those who already knew a little about Quakers, and were fascinated to know that a Quaker Meeting exists in Wimborne now.’
