Britain Yearly Meeting (BYM) is deciding whether to create an online festival for Yearly Meeting (YM) next year, due to uncertainty around public health restrictions for 2021. ‘Next year there would be a parallel programme for children and young people as well as the opportunity for Quakers to come together as a worshipping community… there might be customary lectures, and a range of online events,’ said BYM.

Provisional dates and plans will be confirmed on 5 December by online Meeting for Sufferings.

Having just organised a BYM Fringe event using Zoom last week I think this is an excellent idea. We had 35 or so people from all over the country together for a great discussion. It was a good equivalent of our usual special interest meeting at BYM.
I thank our young Cambridge Friend for organising the Fringe this year and I hope there will a similar event in 2021, to supplement any gathering we may have.
