The 2025 Quaker Truth and Integrity Award is open for nominations

by Rebecca Hardy 10th January 2025

The 2025 Quaker Truth and Integrity Award opened for nominations last week.

Jan Arriens, from the Quaker Truth and Integrity Group (QTIG), told the Friend: ‘The award will be made to either an individual or an organisation in recognition of an exceptional contribution towards the enhancement of standards of truth and integrity in public life in Britain.’

The call for nominations from 1 January follows ‘the highly successful award made in 2024 to the BBC journalist Peter Taylor,’ he added. Peter Taylor was presented with the award in recognition of his ‘outstanding’ work over fifty years.

The first recipient after the award was set up in 2022 was another journalist, Carole Cadwalladr. QTIG said this highlighted both the importance of trustworthy reporting in today’s world, and the challenges journalists face.

Further details, including the award’s criteria, may be found on https://quakertruth.org/truth-award. Nominations may be made by individual Friends or any Quaker body. They should be submitted to quakertruth@gmail.com. The closing date is 30 April.
