The plight of immigrant children detained in Europe is the subject of a new report published by the Quaker Council for European Affairs (QCEA).

Child Immigration Detention in Europe is the conclusion of a significant research project into the practice of detaining children due to their migration or asylum status. Hundreds of children are held in detention centres across Europe. The report, which is part of the QCEA Human Rights Programme, sheds light on the under-reporting of their cases and proposes humane alternatives. It reasserts that detention is never in the best interests of a child.
