New message for passers-by

New banners have been hung at Friends House

The Euston Road façade of Friends House boasts two new banners.

The identical banners say: ‘Quakers – led by faith to build a better world’.  The message is a distillation of the Quaker Week posters: ‘Beginning with stillness, my faith becomes action’.

The artwork is based on one of the new posters produced last year for Local Meetings. It is the work of Rowan Abbot, a freelance artist from Leamington Spa.

Jane Dawson, Britain Yearly Meeting advocacy and public relations team leader, told the Friend: ‘We wanted a strong, intriguing image which conveyed our grassroots activism and inspired the viewer to find out more about Quakers, their faith and the work they do’.

The new banners will be in situ for six to twelve months.
