'Quaker Voices in Education' launched

by Tara Craig 29th April 2016

Quaker Values in Education (QVinE) launches a collection of personal reflections at their conference in Friends House on 30 April.

The book, Quaker Voices in Education, which presents the experiences of Friends in their work as educators, came about as a result of the Quaker Values in Education Woodbrooke conference in 2014. Eleven Friends have shared their experiences, focusing on matters of faith and practice. QVinE describes the book as presenting ‘a coherent, consistent position on education’.

The 2016 conference is for all those interested and engaged in publicly funded education. Keynote speaker Tim Brighouse has chosen as his topic: ‘The flawed values of our schools: how can England turn its schooling system, based on “knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing”, into one based on the values of a civilised society?’
