New chair for Barrow Cadbury Trust
Helen Cadbury to become the next chair of the Barrow Cadbury Trust
The Barrow Cadbury Trust has announced that Helen Cadbury is to become its next chair. Helen, the Trust’s seventh chair since 1920, takes over from Ruth Cadbury, who has chaired the Trust since 2006.
She said: ‘Over the past century the Barrow Cadbury Trust has had a powerful record of tackling injustice and structural inequality, and I am proud to represent that radical tradition.
‘From grassroots experience I know what huge challenges we currently face as a society, which is why I am so excited to take on the responsibility of chairing the Trust.’
Helen will formally take up the post at the next trustees’ Meeting on Saturday 20 April.
A writer and poet, her debut novel, To Catch a Rabbit, which was joint winner of the Northern Crime Award, will be published by Moth Publishing in May.
