Meeting in Ethiopia
Quaker Meeting to be started in Addis Ababa

A Scottish Quaker intends to introduce the Quaker way of worship to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Peter Cheer, a member of Perth Meeting East Scotland, who is currently on a Voluntary Service Overseas assignment in Ethiopia, plans to hold a Quaker Meeting for Worship in Addis.
Peter says: ‘I have been in contact with Lucy, who was an attender in Namibia and went to a Quaker school in the United States. We are going to have a trial Quaker Meeting here in Addis, probably near the start of December’.
Philip Bryers, clerk of East Scotland Area Meeting, adds: ‘Peter would welcome news of any other Quaker contacts in Ethiopia. He can be contacted at addisquaker@hotmail.com’
