‘We spent three days living our individual testimonies in common, in community, groping our way to discernment through the mists and the shadows, believing the best of each other,’ said David Amos in his oral report on Yearly Meeting (YM) 2013.

YM 2013 asked the Church Government Advisory Group to prepare a further revised draft of chapter sixteen on marriage in Quaker faith & practice, if and when the legal situation on same sex marriage changes.

The Group was also asked to bring further revision of 8.09 and 8.10 of Quaker faith & practice concerning Quaker Life’s Representative Council to YM2014.

The Tabular Statement was formally received. It should challenge the Religious Society of Friends to look at the changes in patterns of membership that it indicates are happening. The recording clerk is asked to work with Meeting for Sufferings and Area Meetings to experiment with new ways of gathering and presenting this information.
