Meeting for Sufferings: The Book of Discipline

Lesley Richards, clerk, gave a verbal report on the work of the Book of Discipline Revision Preparation Group.
Lesley spoke of the group’s ‘most public work’, the ‘Reading Quaker faith & practice’ project, and stressed that it is a spiritual exercise, not an opportunity for Friends to revise Quaker faith & practice.
It aims, Lesley explained, to leave the group better positioned to answer when asked if the Book of Discipline needs revision.
Yearly Meeting Gathering in 2017 will be an opportunity to get feedback from Friends, and the revision group hopes to present its conclusion to Sufferings in autumn 2017.
