Two Friends were added to the court and prison register
Two Friends have been added to the court and prison register.
Ian Bray, of Huddersfield Meeting (Brighouse West Yorkshire Area Meeting), was arrested on the 19 November 2016 with fourteen others during a nonviolent direct action against the expansion of Heathrow Airport. He was given a twelve-month conditional discharge and a fine of £105.
Sam Walton, of South London Area Meeting, was arrested on Sunday 29 January 2017 after entering BAE Systems’ Warton site in order to disarm warplanes bound for Saudi Arabia. He has been released on bail pending charges.
Sam, who works with Quaker Peace & Social Witness at Friends House, was acting in a personal capacity (see ‘Rooted in faith’).
