The draft Annual Report of Meeting for Sufferings for 2016, which had been prepared by the clerk working with the Arrangements Group, was given to Sufferings for approval.
Sufferings met five times in 2016. The business addressed was described as not ‘new or major decision making but rather continuing with established terms’. Major issues of concern included refugees and asylum seekers.
Sufferings was reminded of its responsibility in ‘developing a visionary and prophetic role’ for the whole Yearly Meeting and five strands in this were outlined.
The report was approved and will be forwarded to Yearly Meeting 2017.
