Meeting for Sufferings: Drones

Friends urged to highlight the increasing use of drones by the military

by Ian Kirk-Smith 8th February 2013

Friends at Meeting for Sufferings were urged to highlight, in different ways, the increasing use of drones (unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs) by the military.  The military use of drones is clearly in opposition to the peace testimony and concern about drones has been expressed in the past few years by a number of Meetings, including Bromley, Forest Hill and Petts Wood.

The Peace Campaigning and Networking Group of QPSW has been working on this subject for some time in the areas of research, raising awareness and lobbying.

Friends were encouraged to support this work by, for example, writing personal letters to MPs supporting the work of Drones Wars UK and backing the work being done at Friends House.
