Meeting for Sufferings: Contributions significantly down

There has been a dramatic fall in contributions this year of some sixteen per cent from individuals and Meetings towards the work of Britain Yearly Meeting.
Peter Ullathorne, BYM treasurer, spoke to Sufferings about the state of the finances of Britain Yearly Meeting. He said that the finances were in good shape but highlighted that the amount contributed by individuals and Meetings was significantly down on the figure for last year. The £908,000 that was contributed this year represented a fall of sixteen per cent on the figure for the same period last year.
He said: ‘Once again legacies will bail us out.’ He explained that Britain Yearly Meeting have asked treasurers around the country why there has been such a significant reduction in contributions in their area. Feedback is being received.
