Meeting for Sufferings: Canterbury Commitment update

A new tool is being developed

by Ian Kirk-Smith 11th October 2013

A Yearly Energy Survey (YES) is being developed to provide a ‘simpler and more robust’ tool to monitor energy use.

Meeting for Sufferings (MfS) heard from the Minute 36 (Canterbury) Commitment Group how the initial climate calculators ‘led to mixed results’. The new tool is in the early stages of development. It ‘isolates a few simple, clear measurements which can be made without excessive time or investigation, but which would deliver information that could easily be tracked year on year.’ MfS encouraged the group to coordinate a gathering to explore how to build community around the Canterbury Commitment. Area Meetings will be invited to send representatives. A Friend said that working together will help build ‘solidarity to go that step further’.
