Meeting for Sufferings: A new chapter

7 July 2012 saw the start of a new triennium for Meeting for Sufferings

The silence was settled. Friends had come from every corner of Britain.  They were gathered in worship in the George Fox room at Friends House.  A Friend rose. She paused. Then she gave her ministry. She explained that she had previously been one of three representatives from her Area Meeting. Now she was the sole representative. She believed her task remained the same – that of carrying messages to and from the centre. She said that the root of the word ‘angel’ was ‘messenger of light’ and said that was what she wanted to be. That is what representatives to Meeting for Sufferings (MfS) were.
