Meeting for Sufferings: 2013 operational plan
The 2013 operational plan has been approved
‘Close to poetry when they are good’, was how Jennifer Barraclough, clerk to Britain Yearly Meeting (BYM) trustees, described operational plans, with 2013’s as a case in point.
She compared it to water which, when allowed to spread uncontrollably, can cause damage but when controlled it can be channelled to be a force for good. Such was the value of an operational plan in keeping the current work, developmental priorities and allocation of resources on course. For the first time it contains specifics relating to the allocation of resources and gives information on what is already being done, together the developmental priorities for 2013.
In autumn 2013 Management Meeting expects to present a plan for 2014 to trustees, alongside the draft budget. When the long term framework for beyond 2014 is in place it will be used to develop a five-year operational plan, which will be reviewed annually.
