On the same day, my sister and I published Stirring Up Sheffield: An insider’s account of the battle to build the Crucible Theatre. The book is based on the manuscript written by our late father, Colin George, who was the theatre’s first artistic director and the figurehead of the daring enterprise to build a ‘thrust’ stage theatre in Sheffield.
