Luton Friends protest outside Barclays Bank

During Quaker Week 2012 Luton Quakers worshipped and prayed outside Barclays Bank.  Chris Nickolay told the Friend that a leaflet was handed out saying that they were doing this ‘because a long time ago Barclays was a Quaker bank. It was honest and truthful.

‘Now the greed and dishonesty of Barclays and other banks has brought crisis. This crisis is hurting people. Government cuts will make it worse. Huge bonuses, tax avoidance, cheating by banks are just wrong. Today we are going to give Barclays a letter reminding them of the truth and honesty they have lost.’
