Lucky escape for Quaker Tapestry in Kendal
Tapestry escapes flooding
It is business as usual at the Quaker Tapestry Museum, despite the worst floods in Kendal in six decades.
‘The flood water travelled up the garden to the steps of the [Meeting] house as far as the front door at the New Road side of the building and half way up the car park at the Stramongate side. We were like a little island with a moat!’ Museum general manager Bridget Guest told the Friend.
The Quaker Tapestry Exhibition is closed for January as usual and reopens on 15 February.
