Low carbon, sustainable fun

Laurie Michaelis commends the commitment to sustainability but asks where the community is in it all

At Yearly Meeting Gathering, in Canterbury in 2011, Quakers made a commitment to become a ‘low carbon sustainable community’. Since then many Friends have been reflecting on the practicality and politics of energy conservation, nuclear power and solar panels. But what about the ‘community’ bit of the commitment?
