London Quakers host ‘Climate Fresk’
'I am strengthened to think again about what I can do. Discussing things with other people was really helpful.’
Quakers took part in a climate justice gathering last month at Friends House in London.
The ‘Climate Fresk’ event on 25 February was aimed at ‘sharpening’ understanding of climate change. Described as a ‘scientific collaborative and creative workshop’, the session was designed to provide key information to understanding how the effects of human activities are disrupting the climate system.
Frances Touch, of Epsom Meeting, said: ‘I thought, I could do with sharpening up my understanding. I’m not as clear about it all as I would like to be… Do I know it all now? No, but I am strengthened to think again about what I can do. Discussing things with other people was really helpful.’
Several Friends attended the event, including Tamara Rabea, a professional photographer from Bethnal Green, who photographed the event, and Linda Murgatroyd who has led the Loving Earth Project.
Around sixty panels of that textiles project were recently taken to Portcullis House in Westminster.
Linda Murgatroyd also appeared with fellow Quaker Ruth Cadbury MP on BBC Radio 4’s Sunday programme two weeks ago, talking about the exhibition.
