London Quakers (LQ) have launched a new Zoom group for Friends in the capital to worship and talk together. Fred Ashmore told the Friend that the group was created to build up the sense of a London-wide community of Friends. ‘At each meeting, we will have a good speaker to say a few words on a serious and interesting subject immediately before we disperse into breakout rooms. We have lots of offers for this from weighty Friends from London. We really hope that this new meeting will help bring London Friends together – and London Friends Together is the name we have given the new meeting.’

The meeting is seen as a particularly good opportunity as LQ consider new ways of governing themselves. A small organising group of Fred Ashmore and Leasa Lambert (clerks of LQ), plus Helen Drewery and Sandy Horsfall, will be arranging for each meeting to have a speaker, a Zoom-host and an elder.
