Living Witness looks to the future
A Living Witness gathering considered the future of the group
A dozen Friends gathered at the Bamford Quaker Community in Derbyshire from 7-9 October to shape the future work of Living Witness, the Quaker sustainability group.
Laurie Michaelis, coordinator of Living Witness, told the Friend that the group ‘is trying to function more as a community, supporting people to take the lead on a variety of projects or networks’.
He said: ‘We looked at the essential Quaker principles underlying our sustainability witness, mapped out some of the different areas of work we were interested in, and identified some priority areas that the Friends present wanted to be involved in or to lead.’
Living Witness members chose five activities to be taken forward by project groups. These will focus on wellbeing, ecotheology, resilience, interfaith work and conversations.
Laurie concluded: ‘We’d very much welcome more people getting involved in our work.’
