Let’s go fly a kite
The 'Fly Kites Not Drones' weekend will take place in March
The annual ‘Fly Kites Not Drones’ weekend will take place between 19 and 21 March to coincide with the Afghan New Year.
Friends are encouraged to take part to show their opposition to the use of armed drones. The United Kingdom has ten armed ‘Reaper’ drones. Royal Air Force pilots have ‘flown’ armed drones in Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq and Syria.
Fly Kites Not Drones was inspired by the international initiative run by Afghan Peace Volunteers. It is a joint effort from Voices for Creative Non-Violence UK, the Drone Campaign Network, Pax Christi UK and Quaker Peace & Social Witness (QPSW).
