Kindlers launch new workshop

The Quaker volunteer group the Kindlers has launched a new workshop focusing on how stories shed light on truth. The course will be on offer from January 2027.
David Brown, Kindlers’ administrator and one of the workshop creators, said: ‘“Stories as Gateways to Truth” will be a day to explore the imagery in stories and parables and create our own.’
The new workshop was accepted by Kindlers at their annual conference in August. Two new Kindlers attended, bringing team membership up to thirteen. The event included planning a programme for 2027 and discussing new ways of supporting Meetings, as well as sharing ideas and resources.
The group is on course to offer twenty workshops this year, and 2027 will include both in-person and online events.
Founded fifteen years ago, the Kindlers’ aim is to deepen the spiritual life of Quaker groups by facilitating reflective workshops, and publishing. The now-Quaker Recognised Body grew out of the Quaker Quest workshops for people interested in finding out more about the Quaker faith. Alec Davison, from North West London Area Meeting, and a few other Friends decided to offer day workshops for Quakers addressing their search for meaning and depth in Meeting for Worship. The workshops have been running ever since.
