Keswick Meeting goes solar
Friends in Keswick install photovoltaic panels on Meeting house roof
Friends in Keswick are celebrating after installing environmentally friendly panels on their Meeting house. The photovoltaic cells were fitted in December – ahead of the deadline.
Keswick Quakers also told the Friend that they are mourning the loss of one of the scheme’s most active supporters. Former clerk Michael Evans died on 23 December and was too ill to see the panels switched on. Local Friend Dorothy Crowther explained: ‘Michael was always a hard-working Quaker and this was his last contribution to the life of Keswick Meeting and for sustainability.’
