JRCT grant to strengthen Quaker values in Europe

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust has awarded a grant to help Quaker communities in Europe and the Middle East

The shared identity of Friends in Europe is being strengthened by a grant from the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT). The grant was awarded to the Europe and Middle East Section of Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC/EMES) and will cover a period of three years.

The JRCT has financed a diverse range of Quaker projects in the past but ceased to have a specific category for the work of Friends following the 2013 closure of its Quaker Concerns programme. The new grant to FWCC/EMES was awarded under the charity’s Small Grants Fund.

The grant will help Quaker communities in Europe and the Middle East undertake projects that will promote and support the shared identity of Quakers and bring Quaker values to a wider community.
