York Liberal Jewish Community will be holding an interfaith service on 27 February

by Tara Craig 27th February 2015

York’s new Jewish Community will open its doors, or rather those of Friargate Meeting House, to local people, on Friday 27 February.

The recently-formed York Liberal Jewish Community worships at the Meeting house, as reported in the Friend on 6 June 2014.

The UK’s first female rabbi, Jackie Tabbick, will lead the service. She is president of the World Congress of Faiths and an executive of the Interfaith Network. Jackie and her husband Larry, rabbi of Hampstead Reform Synagogue, will lead an explanatory Shabbat evening service.

The service is partly intended to thank York Friends for providing a venue for Jewish services.
