Every Quaker has a choice to remain an attender or apply for membership of the Religious Society of Friends. I don’t intend to discuss whether or not we should be a membership organisation, nor what the process or requirements for membership should be. But whichever choice we make has consequences, and we must therefore accept the consequences of the choice we make. What I do want to reflect on are the implications of this decision.
