So, what is going on in Scotland? Encounters with English Friends at Yearly Meeting, just before the general election, revealed that few understood the predicted surge of support for the Scottish National Party (SNP). Many in England don’t understand the Scottish political climate, which has been frequently misrepresented in the national press and in much of the political campaigning by mainstream parties.
