The man sitting to my left rose suddenly, reading from Isaiah 43 on his phone: ‘But you have burdened me with your sins; you have wearied me with your iniquities. I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.’ The last words seemed to reassure him that repentance could lead to forgiveness.
