The public garden at Friends House in London will host one of the more creative projects of the London Olympics.

A huge ‘Gift box’ will be located in the centre of the garden on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 August. It is hoped that passers-by will ‘drop in’ to see what is inside.

‘Gift box’, an innovative project created by Stop the Traffik and the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT), was launched during London 2012.

Gift boxes are walk-in pieces of public art that people encounter at street level in London. The art installations aim to raise awareness about victims’ experiences of being trafficked. Once visitors are enticed inside, the organisers’ state, ‘the truth will be revealed…’
