Three Gerald Hodgett grants have been awarded

Three Gerald Hodgett grants have been given to Quaker studies students and graduates to turn their research findings into practical resources for Meetings and Friends, the Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre has announced.  The three projects explore areas of interest and discussion amongst Friends. Two offer workshops that Meetings may book.

Susan Robson’s ‘Living with Conflict’ website is the public face of fifteen years’ research and collaborative work about why and how peaceful people, like Quakers, find it so difficult to handle conflict among themselves. Jennie Barnsley’s recent PhD research considered the complexities of gender and the Divine. In her project Rhiannon Grant looks at the Quaker use of religious language and at the philosophical tools that can help people understand them.

Woodbrooke has encouraged Friends to pursue ‘further information at www.woodbrooke.org.uk’ and to take advantage of the offer to hold workshops in Local Meetings.
