Friends to host hustings
Quakers will host hustings with the main political parties in the approach to the general election
Quakers will host hustings with the main political parties in the approach to the general election.
Hustings will take place around Britain, including at Friends House in London. The aim is to stimulate an alternative conversation on topics such as justice, democracy and peace, Trident, sustainability and economic inequality.
Britain Yearly Meeting has developed a series of briefings suggesting questions to ask candidates.
Friends House hustings will take place on 31 March, 9 and 21 April. Registration is required. Information on events outside London will be added to the Quaker Vote website on an ongoing basis.
Parliamentary engagement officer Jessica Metheringham said: ‘This general election will set the scene for politics in Britain for the next five years. The next few weeks are an opportunity to shape the debate.’
