Between twenty and twenty-five Friends took part in Manchester’s annual Pride parade on Saturday 26 August.

Friends from Manchester and Warrington were joined by others from York, Cheshire, London and the Isle of Man.

They said they came ‘to count themselves in’, to celebrate, to witness and to enjoy being part of a huge Manchester family event.

The theme year was ‘Class of 2017: The Graduation Parade’. The focus was on the importance of education in ending inequality.

Tributes were also paid to those who lost their lives in the attack on the Manchester Arena.

One Friend said: ‘Today it has the feel of a campaign that began in pain and outrage, and has lived to see many of its wildest dreams come true.
