Next week both Quaker Week and World Quaker Day

Friends gear up to share their faith

Next week both Quaker Week and World Quaker Day

by Tara Craig 25th September 2015

Next week, Friends will mark both Quaker Week (3-11 October) and World Quaker Day (4 October).

During Quaker Week, members of Britain Yearly Meeting will share personal faith journeys. Online and on posters, five British Friends will reflect how, beginning with stillness, their faith becomes action.

Events across the country will help raise the profile of Quakers. Among them are a workshop at Worcester Meeting House, which will help participants learn how to simplify their lives, and a screening at Harrogate Meeting House of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament film The War Game.

For World Quaker Day, the Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC) is calling on Quakers around the world to remember and celebrate their deep connections across cultures and Quaker traditions. This year’s theme, Living the Transformation, looks forward to the FWCC World Plenary Meeting, which will take place in Peru in January 2016.
