Friend puts together George Fox video series
A series of short videos are being created explaining what George Fox's message means today
A Friend from Rochester Meeting acted out the role of George Fox in a re-enactment of episodes from Fox’s life at the Glenthorne Quaker Centre and Guest House in Grasmere.
John Spencer is making a series of short videos for a website with a commentary explaining what George Fox’s message means today. He also came to a Meeting for Worship on 19 September dressed as George Fox, carrying ‘a statuette of the young George’.
Terry Winterton, Friend in Residence at Glenthorne, told the Friend: ‘The visit created a strong reaction from all the attenders at the morning Meeting for Worship and the other visitors in and around Glenthorne.’
He added: ‘The statuette was created by Ruth Dave of Sedbergh some years ago but only recently made its way back to Cumbria from Exeter.’
