Four arrests at nuclear base
Protesters against Trident have been arrested
Four Trident Ploughshares campaigners were arrested on 13 July as they blocked roads leading to the nuclear warhead store at Coulport on Loch Long, Scotland.
The four lay in the road joined by ‘lock-on’ tubes as other protesters, wearing carnival costumes, blocked a second access for over two hours. The four campaigners were arrested on a charge of breach of the peace.
The action was part of a nine-day ‘disarmament camp’, during which protests were held at the Clyde naval base in Faslane where the UK’s nuclear submarines are based.
