Barbara Forbes reports on a conference that highlighted the underlying causes of inequality

We Quakers can move fast when we need to. In mid-July Central England Area Meeting received minutes from four of its Local Meetings, plus its Peace Committee, in response to the statement on inequality adopted by Meeting for Sufferings in April. It was quickly decided that Peace Committee should be tasked with organising a conference to look at our response to the underlying causes of inequality, rather than only trying to make the present situation slightly less dire.
