Exploring Bournville

On 16 April Songs of Praise explored the faith and philanthropy of the Cadbury family in Bournville.

The episode explored the history of the Cadbury company and the development of their factory village. Aled Jones goes on a walking tour of Bournville with the heritage manager of the Village Trust, Daniel Callicott, and meets Caroline Cadbury, the great-granddaughter of the co-founder of Bournville, George Cadbury.

Gentle outreach

Eye caught a glimpse of how Meetings use the Friend, courtesy of Annon-a-mouse: ‘I’ve noticed one Meeting is using the Quaker faith & practice quote at the bottom of the contents page of the Friend, to type up, enlarge to fit A4, and post it each week or so, on their outside notice board for passers by. They entitle it as a quote to reflect on.’
