I’m an Essex girl
And I don’t care what you think,
Essex girls are great fun-makers,
Jolly hockey sticks! Give us a wink!

Essex girls stay young at heart,
Kicking around with the best of ‘em,
Mix with the hilly-billies, joking apart,
Rub noses, pinch cheeks, bump bums!

Down in the dumps? Want cheering up?
Find an Essex girl, maybe a nurse,
Kiss her and hug her and dance a jig,
Don’t wait for the hearse!

Have fun now, you’re as young as you feel,
Time goes by and we’ll all be dead.
Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Timbuktu,
Travel the world! It’s all in your head.

Essex girls are here to stay,
Have a laugh, come on and play.
Essex girls, through thick and thin,
Essex girls come on in!

If the moon doth shine as bright as day
I’ll leave my bed and start making hay
But if in that hay I want you to tumble
Just give me a Yes. Don’t start to mumble!!
