Enjoying Yearly Meeting

Joy Croft offers some advice on getting the most out of Yearly Meeting

It is May and I am looking forward to Yearly Meeting. I always do. I love the magic of sharing in worship and worship for business with a thousand other focused Friends. Nevertheless, I find Yearly Meeting often verges on the overwhelming. All the noise and bustle and nonstop information input can leave me feeling disoriented, anxious and generally ‘zingy’. In fact, I’m not sure that pace is really healthy for any of us. Just because we Quakers can cram a gallon of activity into a pint pot of time, it doesn’t mean we should.
