Elizabeth Fry has been voted twenty-fifth in a list of 100 women who changed the world

Elizabeth Fry, the leading Quaker prison reformer, has made it onto a list of the ‘100 Women Who Changed the World’.

The ‘Angel of Prisons’, as she was called, came twenty-fifth on the list, which appeared in BBC History Magazine.

Readers were asked to vote for the women who has had ‘the biggest impact on world history’, from a shortlist drawn up by ten experts.
