Eco Church award won by Friends

Bradford on Avon Meeting has received their bronze award certificate from Eco Church

Bradford on Avon Meeting has had its environmental efforts acknowledged by the new Eco Church scheme.

The scheme was launched in January 2016 by A Rocha UK, a Christian charity that works for the protection and restoration of the natural world. Eco Church is the successor to Eco-Congregation in England and Wales. Since its launch more than 300 churches have signed up.

Friends in Bradford on Avon registered with the initiative in September and have already received their bronze award certificate.

Warden Klaus Huber told the Friend that the award was given in recognition of ‘the work done by Bradford on Avon Friends over the last few years to “green” our late Victorian Meeting house and engage with the local community over environmental issues’. He added that Friends hope to win the silver award soon.
