E-book to book-book
'You can't evict an idea' becomes a printed book after digital success
Quaker author Tim Gee has broken fresh ground with his book on the Occupy movement. You Can’t Evict an Idea, which analyses the impact of the movement, was initially ‘published’ as an e-book. Its success in this form prompted its publisher, Housmans, to then publish it in printed form.
In the first week that You Can’t Evict an Idea was made available as an e-book, it was downloaded by more than one thousand people.
In line with the anti-corporate ethos of the movement, the publisher has taken steps to ensure that You Can’t Evict an Idea is only available in libraries and radical bookstores, rather than from large online corporations, such as Amazon.
