Friends are engaging with the general election

by Harry Albright 5th May 2017

Quakers across Britain are engaging with the general election, called for Thursday 8 June. The campaign is an opportunity to highlight Quaker concerns, particularly on important topics like nuclear weapons, immigration, climate change and human rights.

The Britain Yearly Meeting (BYM) representative body said: ‘Humanity needs leaders of integrity and conscience, ready to be held to account by individuals and institutions, national and international.’

The BYM general election website, www.quakervote.org.uk, suggests questions for Friends to put to parliamentary candidates and other ways in which to get involved.
