The Quaker Service Memorial Trust has launched a DVD

by Rebecca Hardy 16th November 2018

The Quaker Service Memorial Trust (QSMT) has released a DVD containing interviews with world war two members of the Friends Ambulance Unit (FAU) and Friends Relief Service (FRS). The Pacifism Under Test DVD is the result of a QSMT oral history project containing two hours of interviews (out of fifty hours filmed) conducted with over twenty surviving members.

John Babb, trustee of the QSMT, said: ‘The DVD provides a resource for discussion of our Peace Testimony, as well as recounting some of the work carried out by those organisations. It is a unique historical document and we were fortunate that we were able to complete the interviews whilst these men and women were still able to tell their story.’

Sections include: ‘What made me a CO’, ‘Challenges to my pacifism’ and ‘Work with refugees and displaced persons’.
