Early in my journey as a member of the Religious Society of Friends, when I had just commenced my first triennium as an overseer, I had an experience that affected me and prompted me to reflect carefully on a word: confidentiality.

Two elders visited me to tell me that a particular Friend, for whose care and support I was geographically responsible but who I had not yet met, had started to complain about me.
