How many people would you expect to come to a Quaker Regional Gathering? If you prefer, how many would you expect to have come to the old General Meetings? I can remember up to around eighty with some children as well. But on Saturday, 2 November, at Wilmslow we had 150 including the Teenage General Meeting and nine children. It was a bit overwhelming, but local Friends coped well thanks to the use of the Guild – the local adult education centre set up by Quakers a long time ago. There were Friends from Bangor and Oswestry, Manchester and Blackburn and, of course, Cheshire.
